Chrysavgi Sakellaropoulou is a painter and book illustrator based in Athens. From an early age she cultivated her love for classical painting, and in 2019 she also turned to digital art, at the same time discovering the art of comics. During this period, she contributed to the creation of the artistic collective Byzantine Tales. Her first graphic novel, Theophano: A Byzantine Story, has been translated into English and Italian, and in 2022 was presented at the Peran Museum of Istanbul as part of a temporary exhibition entitled “Byzantium in Pop Culture.”
Today, she continues working on the completion of the five-volume series Basil Basileus, while also taking on book, cover, and comic illustration projects, with constant inspiration drawn from history and contemporary visual storytelling. Her books are also available in English on Amazon.
