Narralive Research Team
The Narralive team focuses on human-computer interaction and communication between people, aiming to design innovative digital narratives and experiences that foster understanding of diverse perspectives on cultural heritage, education, and the environment. In the context of the AthensCon 2024 event we will present the two following research prototypes related to the tabletop game world.
NoFold: Bridging the digital and physical world in Board Games!
The Narralive research team is exploring new ways to create or play board games with our web/XR hybrid platform. Our focus is on the design of custom board games for playtesting in virtual or mixed reality (VR/MR) with realistic interactions. Access a wide game library, learn from others, and join events. New immersive technologies in the service of board games by blending digital and physical worlds seamlessly!
RPGs4Museums: Role-playing Games in Museums!
What do an Amazon, a museum educator, and a teenager who has no idea who the Amazons were have in common? They are the heroes of the tabletop RPG we call RPG4Museums! RPG4Museums explores the educational potential of role-playing games in museum and school settings through two pilot games:
The Abduction of the Meliads: an adventure in Brauron, 699 BC, for 4 players. A mystery adventure in 19th-century Athens, in collaboration with the Museum of History of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.
Nofold and RPGs4Museums is carried out within the framework of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan Greece 2.0, funded by the European Union – NextGenerationEU.
