Massimo Fecchi is one of Italy’s most distinctive humor comics artists, with a career spanning over six decades. A graduate of the Istituto d’Arte di Roma, he debuted in 1964 with the series Picchio & Pacchio for Il Pioniere.
In the 1970s, he drew Warner Bros. characters such as Tom & Jerry, Bugs Bunny, and Woody Woodpecker, while working for over twenty years with Germany’s Kauka Verlag, illustrating beloved series like Fix & Foxi and Lupo. In 1984, he adapted the classic animated series Pumuckl (Frou Frou in Greek) into comics and later created a humorous parody of The Odyssey.
Since 1998, Fecchi has collaborated with Egmont, producing stories featuring Donald Duck, Mickey Mouse, and the Big Bad Wolf for Disney magazines across Europe. He founded Fecchi Studios to mentor younger artists and has also worked as an animator at Berlin’s Hahn Film studio and as an illustrator for San Paolo and Paoline publishers.
His art stands out for its fluid movement, expressive humor, and cinematic storytelling. In 2023–2024, a major retrospective exhibition titled “L’arte nei fumetti di Massimo Fecchi” was held in Rome, celebrating his sixty-year artistic journey.
In Greece, his stories appear in Donald Duck and Super Mickey magazines by Kathimerini. His first story published in Greek was The Emerald Fox in Almanako #251 (2012).
