Arti Shah, an actress, corporate model, creature & motion capture performer. She is known for playing the female alien in Attack the Block (2011), a Goblin in Gringotts Bank in Harry Potter & the Deathly Hallows Part 2 (2011), and she was very lucky to do some of the reference movement for Rocket Racoon in Guardians of the Galaxy (2014).
In Attack the Block, Arti was the creature performer for the female alien. The costume was half her body weight. Arti had lots of training to bring the alien to life with movement including running on all fours with arm extensions. As Arti has said “it was the best workout she had ever had!”
In Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part 2, Arti played the part of one of the goblins in Gringotts Wizarding Bank. All of the goblins are men and the prosthetics team did a superb job to create her into a male goblin! Her goblin is busy working like her colleagues but a short glance distracts him to see by Harry Potter and his friends disguised as Bellatrix and her friends with Griphook.
In Guardians of the Galaxy, Arti donned a flattering blue suit and green suit with a picture of Rocket Racoon on her chest (that’s how tall Rocket comes up to on her!) Arti was responsible for helping bring some of his movement to life, where Rocket had to carry things such as his prison food and his favourite weapon, the gun which appears much bigger than him. Arti was a good reference point for this. Helping to bring Rocket Raccoon to life was an amazing experience for her!
